HP (NYSE:HPQ) publishes Global Citizenship Report 2009

HP has released its ninth annual Global Citizenship Report at www.hp.com/go/report, a comprehensive accounting of its programs, performance and goals for 2009. The report covers areas such as environmental sustainability, supply chain management and social innovation.

In 2009, HP achieved many milestones, including:

Reached 100,000 young people through the GET-IT entrepreneurship education program
Contributed over $30 million worldwide to transform education
Reduced global greenhouse gas emissions from our operations by 10 percent
Set a new goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions from HP-owned and HP-leased facilities to 20 percent below 2005 levels by 2013
Recovered 118,000 tonnes of electronic products and supplies for recycling
Introduced an environmental policy for buying, selling and using paper
Conducted 104 supplier site audits, bringing the total to 590
Reported energy use and greenhouse gas emissions from product manufacturing suppliers representing 86 percent of our supply chain spend
