Kenyan companies have signed a code of ethics, hoping to combat problems of corruption and poor governance in the country’s private sector. Dozens of companies from a range of industries endorsed the UN-backed Code of Ethics for Businesses in Kenya. The document addresses issues ranging from stakeholder engagement, bribery and environmental impact. Betty Maina, chief executive of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, a key player in the initiative, said: “Once more companies adopt the code, these issues will start disappearing.”
