RSPO toughens up

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) says it will publish details of company’s not complying with its code of conduct, with an eye to further sanctions later on in the year. There is a possibility that the non-profit, which includes McDonald’s, Nestlé and BP among its members, could begin a process of exclusions. The organisation has only terminated the membership of around 20 companies so far in its short existence, including EDF Energy and Euroenergie.
