The Report details:
GSK’s contribution to global health and access to medicines
GSK has over 150 prescription medicines and vaccines in clinical development £3,327 million was invested in R&D in 2007 GSK supplied 1.1 billion vaccine doses and 78 per cent of these were shipped for use in developing countries The fifth price reduction for anti-retrovirals offered on a not-for-profit basis to Least Developed Countries and sub-Saharan Africa was announced in February 2008 GSK’s community investment was valued at £282 million, including donations of life-saving antibiotics and other medicines to support disaster and humanitarian relief in 107 countries
Transparency
At the end of 2007, 3,089 clinical trial summaries were published on GSK’s Clinical Trial Register GSK became the first pharmaceutical company to publish information on funding of European and International patient groups
GSK’s new climate change strategy
Committed to new targets to reduce their climate change impact by 20 per cent by 2010 and by 45 per cent by 2015
