Security & Human Rights toolkit launched

A toolkit for implementing the UN Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights has been launched, as John Ruggie’s “norms” become more and more established in the business world. The practical guide, particularly targeted at firms operating in areas of conflict and weak governance, provides tools for analysing, planning and implementing change on stakeholder engagement, risk assessment and the use of public and private security providers. It was developed by the International Council on Mining & Metals, the International Finance Corporation, and the oil and gas industry association, IPIECA.
