Companies are being encouraged to simultaneously use the Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Framework. The GRI and OECD have created a partnership offering companies more comprehensive guidance on non-financial reporting.

Under a memorandum of understanding they will aim during the next three years to co-ordinate operations between the GRI framework and the OECD Guidelines. The two groups hope this will promote greater coherence between their operations.
