Ikea has bought six wind farms in Germany in a bid to reduce the carbon footprint of its stores. The deal, with the Spanish turbine firm Gamesa, means Ikea now owns 52 wind turbines across Europe.

It aims to make more purchases as part of a long-term goal of securing all its electricity needs form renewable sources.
