UK mobile phones have been given an eco rating to help consumers. The rating system, from the O2 network, scores companies on operational environmental impact, overall CSR performance and effect on customer habits. It rates the Sony Ericsson Elm as the most sustainable handset out of 65 candidates. Apple, which manufactures the iPhone, refused to allow its handsets to be included in the rankings, making it the only leading mobile phone company not to participate.
