Labour rights NGO Verite has teamed up with the Florida-based Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) to oversee the latter’s Fair Food programme. Verite will verify implementation of the CIW’s agreements with companies such as Burger King, McDonald’s and Subway, which have all agreed to increased pay deals with agricultural workers supplying tomato products.
