An Asia Pacific office of the International Business Leaders’ Forum has been set up in Hong Kong. The new base will enable the forum to become more involved in its corporate partners’ local operations, to strengthen its support for its local partner organizations and to build up the participation of Asia Pacific businesses in its global activities.
The forum has worked with local partners on sustainable projects in China, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam and is developing new ones in Malaysia and Thailand.
Victor Chu has been appointed as chairman of the forum’s Asia Pacific International Advisory Council, which brings together regional business leaders to discuss sustainability and social, economic and environmental development. The council will mobilize global businesses to raise the living standards and well-being of people in emerging markets and developing countries.
