Two more companies have joined the Eco-Patent Commons, a business effort co-ordinated by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development to protect the environment by pledging environmentally friendly patents to the public domain. The office supplier Ricoh and engineering firm Taisei have donated, respectively, technology developed for the recycling of removable cartridges and construction technology to improve water quality.
