Just over a third of US directors believe corporate responsibility should be overseen directly by their company’s main board, a study has shown. The Deloitte survey of 220 directors at US businesses with $1billion (£691million) or more in revenue found that 37 per cent of directors favoured full board oversight rather than leaving CSR responsibility to offshoot board committees, such as those on risk or governance.
