New British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) director general Greg Dyke has pledged to increase the number of ethnic minority employees at the corporation from eight to ten per cent of the workforce by 2003 and to double the number of ethnic minority managers over the same period. Dyke, who appointed a head of diversity, Linda Mitchell, in March, said the BBC had a 'moral duty' to reflect the racial make-up of modern Britain.
