The Global Climate Coalition has altered its membership structure following a decision by General Motors (GM) to resign from the group. Glenn Kelly, executive director of the coalition, which lobbies on behalf of companies against measures to tackle global warming, said only trade associations would now be accepted as members, and not individual companies. GM's withdrawal follows the recent departures of the German motor group DaimlerChrysler and US-based Ford (EP10, 2000).
