ABB engineering group, which works extensively in the Gulf region, has been chosen as the best large company in the first Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards. The two runners-up were Gulf Petrochemical Industries of Bahrain and the Dubai-based hotels group Jumeirah. Forty companies were short-listed for evaluation by a panel of international experts assembled by the Emirates Environmental Group, a Dubai-based organization acting as a focal point for the Global Compact in the Gulf states.
