Odegard tackles child labour in Nepal

The US carpet design company Odegard is to further its policy of addressing child labour in Nepal’s carpet industry with a working capital loan from RSF Social Finance, a non-profit financial services organization.

The company will continue its campaign to eliminate child labour as part of an international and domestic expansion funded by the loan.

Odegard, which markets hand-knotted carpets worldwide, has a manufacturing base in Nepal that provides employment for more than 10,000 craftspeople. Every Odegard carpet bears the RugMark label certifying that carpets are made without child labour.
