Petrobras wins report accolade

The world’s best sustainability report is produced by Petrobras of Brazil, according to an online survey of 1700 report readers by the Global Reporting Initiative.

Other winners of the inaugural Readers’ Choice awards, which were dominated by companies from developing countries, included ABN Amro India – judged by the financial community to have produced the best non-financial report – and the Russian electricity generating firm TGC-5. Readers were invited to consider the materiality, completeness, sustainability, quality and ‘stakeholder inclusiveness’ of non-financial reports for 2006. The awards were made at last month’s GRI conference in Amsterdam.
