An agreement to expand business responsibility education has been signed by the Australian Centre for Corporate Responsibility and the graduate management school of the Melbourne-based La Trobe University. The first project under the partnership will be a CSR postgraduate certificate to be developed by next year.
Four days’ attendance at the centre’s workshops and an assessment will count towards the new qualification, which will be known as the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
This month the centre’s stakeholder engagement workshops will be addressed by the international stakeholder relations expert Ann Svendsen, from the sustainable community development centre at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.
Workshops in the centre’s 2008 calendar will be given in July and August by the international sustainability and organizational change expert Dr Sanjay Sharma making his first visit to Australia. Sharma, whose workshops will deal with building organizational capacity for a sustainable strategy, is the dean of the business school at Concordia University, Toronto.
