Corporate responsibility now has its own dedicated television channel. Internet-based CSR.TV has been established in the UK as an offshoot of the Italian web channel Responsibility.TV, which features programmes on social and environmental topics.

Among current offerings on the new station is an interview with Adine Mees, president of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, and coverage of the recent Green Awards.

London-based CSR.TV, which is writing a code of ethics for its broadcasting activities, has been set up by Social e-volutions, a non-profit organization based in Italy. Roberto Pecchi, the managing director and co-founder, said the eventual aim was for any surpluses to be invested in ‘third-party organizations or projects with similar aims’. He added: ‘We’re also looking at establishing strategic, technological and content partnerships in the UK.’

The channel is the first to broadcast specifically on responsible business practice, though Frontier TV – created by Narrowstep.com – covers ‘ethics, economics and social responsibility’ (EP9, issue 4, p3).
