Toyota helps 28,000 children

The Toyota Viet Nam Foundation has now trained more than 28,000 schoolchildren in its traffic safety education programme, according to latest statistics. The programme is the first to be conducted nationwide by the foundation and is run in conjunction with the country’s national traffic safety committee and the education and training ministry.

Toyota aims to raise road safety awareness through the programme for five million first-grade pupils in the school years 2005-08. The programme has included 22 seminars for 2600 teachers.

The car manufacturer has also provided schools with three million text books, 29,000 view CDs and a similar number of teachers’ manuals.
