Clothing factories in New York are to strive to improve their workplace standards as part of a new venture set up by large retailers and Social Accountability International. Eileen Fisher, Gap and the Hitachi Foundation are among those providing initial financial support for the Factory of the Future programme, which will be overseen by an independent advisory group.
