Pepsi and Coca-Cola join forces in India

The drinks rivals PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are working on a scientific method of testing pesticide residues in beverages and other products in India. A recent report has said both companies’ drinks have high chemical levels.

Indra K. Nooyi, PepsiCo’s president and chief executive, said the two companies were seeking ‘a breakthrough science-based method to reliably and consistently measure the levels in finished products.’ She said PepsiCo was also trying to reduce fats and sugars in its products.
