New Look starts supplier audits

Ladies fashion retailer New Look has begun supply chain audits in a number of countries, including Turkey and Cambodia. This follows the company’s decision last year to send all suppliers copies of a new ethical aims statement (EP 6, 1999).

The high street clothes chain runs almost 500 stores in France and the UK.

New Look is not requiring suppliers to meet any absolute benchmark, but has said it is looking for ‘continual improvement’ from them.
