Rock star Bono has linked up with American Express, Converse, Gap and Giorgio Armani to create consumer products that generate revenue for the fight against pernicious diseases. The products, under the brand name Red, were due to hit the shelves on 1 March, and will include sports shoes, sunglasses and a credit card. About 40 per cent of the profits are expected to be handed over to the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Bono said he wants to draw in hundreds of corporate partners willing to offer Red products. The four founding companies have signed up for five years.
