Yozan, the Japanese telecoms company, is to expand its child protection system through a partnership with the international network provider Vodafone.

The system, which helps to allay increasing worries about child safety in Japan, enables children to alert guardians, schools or local councils in an emergency. The agreement with Vodafone extends the system to corporations requiring security services as well as local government and educational institutions.

The system will be offered nationwide from July 2006, and both companies aim to enhance the child protection service further and to promote a sense of security in society.
