Westpac bank has won the Australian Sustainable Company of the Year title in the 2005 Australian Sustainability Awards.
The Insurance Australia Group received the award for the company with the best corporate governance.
Westpac was also the only company in Australia and New Zealand to receive a triple A rating in the latest RepuTex Social Responsibility Ratings survey for the third consecutive year. RepuTex assesses Australian and New Zealand companies every year on their activities and policies in the areas of corporate governance, environmental impact, social impact and workplace practices.
