Unity Trust Bank is to allow its staff up to five full days a year to work with charities and voluntary groups of their choice. The UK-based bank, established in 1984 by trade unions and the co-operative movement, does most of its business with non-profit organizations, has 12,000 customers in the UK and took deposits of £135million ($235m) from the social economy sector in 2004.
