Cafédirect is giving a proportion of the price of one of its coffee brands towards reconstruction efforts in Mexico in the wake of Hurricane Stan. Fifty pence from every Palenque Single Origin Roast and Ground Coffee bag sold will be put towards rebuilding and infrastructure improvements. This coffee is sourced from the area in Mexico hit by the hurricane. Cafédirect, the UK’s largest fairtrade hot drinks company, has already donated £50,000 ($88,000) for emergency shelter, water and food, and hopes its new contribution will encourage consumers to help raise at least £25,000 more.
