Almost 7000 scientific books worth $1million (£550,000) have been donated to ten university libraries in the developing world by the Netherlands-based publisher Elsevier. Every one of the 6700 Elsevier employees was invited to select one of ten libraries in Africa, South America and Asia to receive a book.
