Nine of the world's largest hotel chains agreed last month to adopt a
set of principles on sustainable design and development. The
principles, outlined in a new document called Sustainable hotel siting,
design and construction, have been produced by Conservation
International and the International Business Leaders Forum. The
participating companies - Accor, Carlson, Four Seasons, Hilton,
InterContinental, Marriott, Rezidor SAS, Starwood Hotels & Resorts
Worldwide and TAJ Hotels, Resorts and Palaces - will now consider how
best to implement the principles in new developments.
