Sport is the poor relation of corporate responsibility programmes, reports the International Business Leaders Forum. In a paper on sport and business, the forum says only a handful of companies are involved in sports projects and 'there is potential for much more', especially in schools and to help the socially excluded. The report highlights the Magic Bus project in India led by Standard Chartered Bank and Deloitte, in which employee volunteers use team sports such as football and cricket to help at-risk slum children, and BP's Football for Peace project in Colombia, which has created football leagues for young people who might otherwise join armed gangs.
