Twenty-six companies operating in China have undertaken to tackle HIV and Aids in their workplaces and communities. This follows an appeal by Wu Yi, China's vice-premier, to Chinese and international companies to stem the epidemic. The 26 will pursue non-discrimination policies for their China-based staff, with advice from the Global Business Coalition on HIV and Aids. Companies involved include Bayer, Gobon Guilin Latex, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Lafarge, MAC Cosmetics, Rio Tinto, and Total.
