Aviva Australia, part of the international Aviva insurance group, hopes to increase staff volunteering to ten per cent of full-time employees this year.

The group, which sets out its targets in its latest CSR report, says it had wanted the proportion of volunteering staff in Australia to reach 20 per cent last year. However, it failed to achieve this and has revised its target for 2005.

A second target in the report is to raise workplace giving from the present 12 per cent of staff to 15 per cent this year.

Another aim is to further raise employee morale. The group reports that 66 per cent are ‘very satisfied’ with working at Aviva, far more than the industry benchmark.
