Two Danish pension funds have begun using the new Convention Watch service developed by the London-based SRI data provider Ethical Investment Research Services. ATP, Denmark’s largest pension fund with DKr307billion ($53.6bn, £28.3bn) of assets and Pen-Sam, which controls DKr45billion, will use the service to help monitor and assess allegations that companies have breached international principles enshrined in UN conventions on the environment, human rights, weapons and bribery. Both funds are run for public employees. Eiris’s Convention Watch service also keeps track of how companies respond to climate change by monitoring their emissions and lobbying.
