Corporate responsibility in Russia is generally ‘disorganized and chaotic’, according to the first national assessment of the social impact of business.

The Report on social investments in Russia by the Russian Managers Association says this is due partly to the ‘immaturity’ of the business sector following the collapse of communism, and partly to government inaction. Only eight of 100 large companies surveyed expected to spend less on community programmes.
