Aluminium manufacturer Alcan has set up a $1million (£530,000) prize to reward outstanding contributions to the goal of sustainable development made by not-for-profit organizations. The Alcan Prize for Sustainability is being run in conjunction with the International Business Leaders Forum and will be awarded by a panel of judges chaired by the World Economic Forum’s co-chief executive Jose Maria Figueres. The closing date for entries is 31 March. A short list will be announced in June and the winner named next January.
