Westpac in reporting first

Westpac has become the first Australian bank to publish a social report.

The document uses social performance indicators created by Westpac with nine financial institutions under the SPI-Finance 2002 project, which has devised guidelines for financial services companies to supplement the Global Reporting Initiative.

The report was verified by Richard Boele, director of the Australian Institute of Corporate Citizenship.
