BP claims to have beaten its own targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions by eight years. The oil company, which set the targets in 1990, says it has reduced emissions by more than nine million tonnes and will now peg future emissions at this level, despite its plans to expand production by 5.5 per cent a year.
