Peacocks sets up ethics talks

The clothes retailer Peacocks is organizing seminars and meetings with suppliers to discuss its ethical sourcing policy.

The Cardiff-based company produced the policy in October 2000 after talks with fund management firm Friends Ivory & Sime, which is a shareholder.

George Cruickshanks, quality assurance manager at Peacocks, said the meetings would ‘provide a good base from which to brainstorm any issues’. Peacocks has suppliers in Bangladesh, India, China and Romania.
