Agilent Technologies has reported for the first time on its environmental and social performance.
The California-based technology company, formed in November 1999 after Hewlett Packard split into two independent companies, has used the Global Reporting Initiative to provide the framework for its 36-page report.
Dreams made real includes four pages on community involvement, health and safety, and employee satisfaction.
Its social performance section includes a pledge to increase the number of people employed from under-represented groups.
More than three-quarters of the company’s US executives and senior managers are white males.
On community involvement, the report says more than 20,000 employees spend a total of 250,000 hours a year helping schools and charities.
Agilent employs 47,000 people in more than 120 countries. Last year it gave $17million (£12m) in equipment and money to institutions and charities.
