ING ponders advice service

ING Bank may establish a European consultancy to service the increasing number of companies that are being approached by fund managers to explain their social and environmental policies.

The Dutch bank has six staff in its sustainability unit carrying out research into the ethical performance of companies it invests in, and believes the unit’s expertise could be used to help other companies respond to requests for information from fund managers.
