Azerbaijan joins UN Global Compact

Azerbaijan has become the latest developing country to join the UN Global Compact. Supported by Statoil and made up of representatives from businesses, civil society, business associations and academia, the new Local Network joins an expanding list of non-Western countries to join the Compact, including most recently Iraq (EP13, issue 6, p12). It has set up a steering committee and has received advice from its Turkish sister organisation.
