The CSR pioneer Ray Anderson has died, aged 77. Anderson, the founder and chairman of the flooring company Interface, was famous for his impassioned promotion of business ethics and the environment, and most notably for his company’s Mission Zero, a programme aimed at full sustainability, started nearly 20 years ago and now close to fruition. His books, including Confessions of a Radical Industrialist, and frequent interview appearances in documentaries, had made him one of the most prominent CSR advocates. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
