The idea of a universal charger for personal electronic devices has come a step closer after the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) adopted a new international standard on the issue. GeSI, whose members include Microsoft, AT&T and Motorola, has committed to the International Telecommunication Union’s recommendation on the L.1000 universal power adapter for mobile phones, MP3 players and similar electronics.
