Severn Trent has appointed a leading US environmental adviser to sit on its environmental advisory panel.

Professor Dan Esty, director of the Yale Centre for Environmental Law and Policy, will join five UK experts on the external panel.

Severn Trent, the second largest water and waste management group in the UK, has said that the advisory body, which was founded in 1997 to advise on sustainable development, is likely to expand its remit to cover social and ethical issues in the future (EP8, 1999).
