Native trees will be planted on land owned by the Defence Estates under a partnership between the UK government and the Woodland Trust charity. A 160-hectare woodland in Cumbria will be used for military training, but the Woodland Trust will be able to use it free to offer UK businesses carbon sequestration on the site at a subsequently cheaper rate.
