The current draft of the International Finance Corporation’s revised sustainability policy and standards does not go far enough on human rights, says a group of NGOs. The Center for International Environmental Law, the Bretton Woods Project, the International Accountability Project, and the World Resources Institute argue in a briefing note that the draft is not consistent with the UN’s proposed framework on business and human rights –and could undermine it in many areas. The final document will be presented to the IFC board later this year.
