The world’s first Fairtrade and Fairmined mine has been certified in Bolivia. The Cotapata Co-operative, which provides a livelihood for about 100 families just outside La Paz, produces gold. Its certification is the culmination of efforts by the Fairtrade Labelling Organization and the Alliance for Responsible Mining.
