Just five per cent of board positions in India’s 100 largest companies are held by women, according to new research by Standard Chartered Bank.

The figure compares to 14.5 per cent in the US and 12 per cent in the UK, while in Hong Kong, the subject of another Standard Chartered report on the issue last year, the figure stands at nine per cent.
