An organ of the Chinese state has created a CSR index jointly with a European partner. The China ESG 40 Equity Index, which has exclusively environmental, social and governance requirements, is China’s first collaboration of its kind and is between the Chinese Securities Index and ECPI, a Luxembourg-based CSR research and index company. ECPI say the venture represents ‘the first real steps to sustainable investment in China’.
